    Job Description

    Embedded Risk Manager

    Sterlings are engaged with a Financial Services company that are seeking an Embedded Risk Manager to strengthen their first line of defence. They will challenge product management and general management of risks, including its effort to identify, assess, respond to, and report and monitor risks.

    In this role, the Risk Manager will challenge the assessment of internal controls by ensuring adherence to Control frameworks, and be able to identify issues resulting from audits or regulatory exams. They will be able to partner with management on risk response strategies to ensure these sufficiently address identified risks.

    Responsibilities:

    • Issue and action plans effectively to remediate issues, monitor timely remediation progress, and action remediation.
    • Monitor the monthly solutions issues and action report and assess issues resulting from audits to determine if they should have been self-identified.
    • Execute the annual sustainability reviews for both internal and external sourced action plans.
    • Supervise the timeliness of all solutions business management issues and actions and establish escalation protocol for items at risk for being past due.
    • Perform review, challenge, and ensure consistent workflow quality control of issues both self-identified, those resulting from risk assessments, and risk incidents.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
    • Experience in risk across 1st line of defence
    • Risk management and audit experience preferred.
    • Extensive experience in a control function in a financial services organization, with primary focus on information technology highly preferred.
    • Experience working in a global team and working with colleagues in remote locations preferred.
    • Experience working in a regulated environment.

    This is a permanent position based in London, operating on a hybrid work setup.
