    SQL Server Database Administrator

    A global investment bank is currently seeking a SQL Server DBA to join the Database team to work across aspects of Projects, Operations, and Engineering. Projects include end-of-life software for SQL databases as the databases are upgraded to newer versions, so an opportunity to work in a major project across the company.

    In the engineering function the newer SQL Servers will include certification process, installation, testing, and batch processes, where this person will help this process across the bank. This role will sit at the Project support/Operations level 3, so will help with any escalations, and so may require rare on-call work.

    This person must have strong experience in SQL Server along with either PowerShell or Python skills. but will also have exposure to other technologies such as Oracle, Sybase, Mongo, Snowflake, and will get an opportunity to cross train, most likely across Oracle. The Databases are both hosted on cloud and on-premise, so lots exposure to cloud technologies too.

    You will:

    • Implement tools and processes for efficient and effective operational management of the environment
    • Define and implement service catalogue whilst ensuring workload is kept within defined parameters
    • Produce clear supporting documentation to enable off-shore to provide first and second-line of support
    • Provide deep technical assessments of ticket queues to identify and address issues in a holistic manner
    • Perform root cause analysis to resolve any technical issues that off-shore escalate
    • Strive to permanently eliminate issues through automation opportunities and sustainable long-term fixes
    • Partner with SRE team to identify areas for continuous improvement, automation and self-service

    Your experience:

    • Current and previous versions of Microsoft SQL Server experience.
    • Scripting and programming languages such as PowerShell or Python
    • Experienced in Database Installation / De-installation, Configuration, Tuning, Migrations and Upgrades
    • Advanced knowledge of Clustering, High-Availability, Replication and Disaster Recovery techniques
    • Fluent in Backup and Recovery processes and procedures
    • Competent with Logical and Physical database design
    • Ability to interpret and implement CIS security hardening recommendations in a controlled manner
    • Awareness of security and auditing requirements in a regulated environment

    This is a permanent position based in London, operating on a hybrid work setup.

      A Bank based in the City of London is currently seeking an Application Support Team Lead to work across their Fixed Income Business.

      This position will own delivery of Production Application Support services to the Fixed Income Business, leveraging ITIL service management principles of Event, Incident, Problem and Change management.

      The Application Support Team Lead will look after multiple teams in multiple locations, ensuring the highest levels of service for Fixed Income Clients and applications across Commodities & Futures for Trading, Pricing and Risk management systems.

      Key areas of responsibility include people leadership, incident management and escalation experience, owning day-to-day operational support services, driving production stability, reliability and service excellence.

      Key Requirements:

      • Experience in IT with strong knowledge of Capital Markets including Fixed Income Products (FX, Cash, Derivatives, Structured Products, Commodities and Futures)
      • Team leadership experience in technology support of Capital Markets trading and related functions.
      • Knowledge of Fixed Income trading activities (Pricing, booking, execution, live risk, market risk, etc.), market data feeds
