Job Description
Network Engineer
A Financial Services company based in London is seeking a Network Engineer to work across a portfolio of networking projects, to provide SME experience through knowledge sharing, and to contribute to delivering high and low level designs. This position is part of the projects team and will focus on project work along with 3rd line escalation duties.
You will be:
- Responsible for delivering several networking projects which will span across all network infrastructure and will include technologies such as Cisco and Arista switches/routers, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, and Checkpoint firewalls, and F5 and A10 load balancers.
- Upgrade, configure, and implement firewalls
- Deliver high and low level designs
- Collaborate across teams to ensure that projects are meeting deliverables
- Contribute to technology strategy and infrastructure product roadmaps.
- Be able to serve part of the 3rd line escalation team to resolve complex implementation or other technical issues.
- Ensure suitable contribution to major incident recovery processes.
You will have:
- Cisco certified to CCNP/CCIE level with relevant commercial experience
- Experience working with the following Network protocols: BGP, OSPF, STP, vPC, Port-Channels, IP, DHCP, DNS, HSRP, VRF, Multicast, VPN, VXLAN, NAT, ACLs, MPLS, VDCs, PTP
- Strong experience in supporting and configuring Network Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Check Point, Fortinet).
- Experience in supporting and configuring Load Balancers such as A10 and F5.
- Experience in supporting and configuring Packet Capture tools, such as Wireshark and Riverbed.
- Understanding of technologies such as Cisco Wireless / DNA-C / ISE / DCNM, Arista, CloudVision, Cloud technologies, Ansible/Python for Network automation
- Understanding on network monitoring, ideally with SolarWinds
- Knowledge of ITILv3 methodologies
This is a contract position based in London with a hybrid setup of 3 days per week in the office.

A Bank based in the City of London is currently seeking an Application Support Team Lead to work across their Fixed Income Business.
This position will own delivery of Production Application Support services to the Fixed Income Business, leveraging ITIL service management principles of Event, Incident, Problem and Change management.
The Application Support Team Lead will look after multiple teams in multiple locations, ensuring the highest levels of service for Fixed Income Clients and applications across Commodities & Futures for Trading, Pricing and Risk management systems.
Key areas of responsibility include people leadership, incident management and escalation experience, owning day-to-day operational support services, driving production stability, reliability and service excellence.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in IT with strong knowledge of Capital Markets including Fixed Income Products (FX, Cash, Derivatives, Structured Products, Commodities and Futures)
- Team leadership experience in technology support of Capital Markets trading and related functions.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income trading activities (Pricing, booking, execution, live risk, market risk, etc.), market data feeds
- Knowledge of applications such as Murex, Bloomberg TOMS, Openlink, XTP, is highly desirable
- The ability to face off to challenging trading clients.
- Ability to manage the priorities and issues from trading desks and work across IT and external vendors to capture, track, status update and drive issues to resolution.
- Solid Linux, SQL, and any scripting language (Shell, Perl, Java, Python, etc.)
